A: The Ouidad Carve and Slice® is a trademarked hair cut, designed for those with a minimum of 2″ of naturally Curly, Wavy, or Kinky Curly hair. When performed by our Ouidad Certified Curl Experts®, the Carve and Slice will get rid of the frizz, “poofiness”, and the dreaded “lampshade” or “pyramid” look that those with Curly Hair oftentimes struggle with. Q: “Do you only service people with Curly Hair?”
A: No. We provide haircare services to clients with all hair types and textures.
Q: “What if I have Curly Hair, and do not want a Ouidad Cut?”
A: In the Denver Metro Area, there are over 1,800 Salons to choose from who are not curl experts. More Than Curly Salon is the only Salon in the Rocky Mountain Region that specializes in Naturally Curly Hair. The Ouidad Carve and Slice® haircut is by far the best haircutting method for Curly Hair Types. At More Than Curly Salon, we only perform the Ouidad Carve and Slice® on clients with Curly, Wavy, or Kinky-Curly Hair types.
Q: “I would like the Ouidad Cut, but do not want to lose any of my hair length. Is that possible?”
A: Yes and no. The Ouidad Carve and Slice® will rid your hair of it’s undesireable density and bulk, and allow for your curls to have definition, freedom, movement and bounce. If your hair has any type of chemical, stress or heat damage, and perhaps you are in the process of growing out your hair, the damaged ends will most likely need to be removed. Your More Than Curly Salon Ouidad Curl Expert® has your best hair health in mind, and will be able to determine the overall health of your hair during your consultation, and whether or not the length of your hair can remain, while still providing you with free flowing bouncy curls.
Q: “Can you help me transition out of my relaxer?”
A: Absolutely. We encourage chemical free living. Consultations are available by appointment to help you get on your way to being chemical free.
Q: “I’m wanting to do the BIG CHOP, can you help me?”
A: Yes. Our team of stylists can work with you, and recommend a variety of natural styles that will compliment your overall beauty to get you started on the Natural Hair Journey.
Q: ”Why should I pay $95 for a haircut?”
A: The Ouidad Carve and Slice® comes with a Ouidad Shampoo, head massage, Ouidad Conditioner, Rake and Shake styling, and at home education. Those who are More Than Curly Salon Ouidad Certified Curl Experts, are passionate about your curls and educating you on how to wear and maintain your curls, which products are best for your hair, so your curls always look their best. The pricing of the patented Ouidad Carve and Slice® is set by Ouidad® The Curl Experts in New York, but can be modified based on the experience of the stylist, and other factors such as length and density. More Than Curly Salon is a Ouidad® Partner Salon, and has invested in the training of our certified stylists, to ensure you the best possible haircare service for curly hair available.
Q: “Do you do consultations?”
A: Every client is given a short consultation before hair or skin services are performed for each appointment. If you are needing a more thorough consultation prior to deciding what service you are needing, appointments of 30 minutes can be made at the non-refundable cost of $30.
Q: “How should I prepare my hair for my appointment?”
A: Please have your hair or your child’s hair detangled, untwisted, or unbraided prior to your visit. Each hair service begins with a wonderful shampoo, head massage and conditioning treatment, so you will be off to a good start.
Q: “Do you do weaves or Sisterlocks®?”
A: Yes. Weaves and Sisterlocks® require a consultation and 50% deposit.
